Into the Weave

Derby Museum and Art Gallery
2010
Flanders Red willow

Into the Weave was created directly in the gallery space. The work was created to examine the notion of walking into a completely woven environment. The exhibition followed on from the previous installation at Chatsworth, Woven Space (created just a few weeks before) which flowed above and around around the viewer.

“My interest in semi-architectural forms fuelled this work and that of Woven Space at Chatsworth.  The ideas behind both of these projects were taken further in the exhibition, In the Thick of It – A Woven Space, created in the gallery at Winchester Discovery Centre, October 2012.”
